available exclusively in Canada.
 This Aberlour 21 year old is a very limited
edition release of only 35 bottles which
have been exclusively released for sale
in Canada. If you were lucky enough to
attend the 2013 New York Whisky Fest
last month you may have come across the
Aberlour 21 year old as Ann Miller,
Chivas Brothers International Brand
Ambassador presented a few bottles of this
exclusive expression at the event but it
has only been released for sale in
Canada.
This exclusive example
of Aberlour Single Malt was matured for
21 years in a single ex-sherry cask made
from European oak and bottled at 53.4%
ABV.
Aberlour tell me that the whisky has a
very concentrated fruity and treacly
toffee flavour showing how 21 years of
aging has concentrated the spirit and
developed a fuller flavour and texture.
When water is added there are wonderful
flavours of rich, moist fruitcake
intermingled with soft sweet liquorice
resulting from the perfect marriage of
Aberlour distillery’s sweet, clean and
citrus sprit and ex-sherry cask
maturation.
The use of ex-sherry casks has been key
to developing Aberlour's style of single
malt and their influence can be found in
almost every Aberlour expression. So
important are these casks that the
distillery now tastes and selects the
sherry wine that is matured in its casks
prior to them coming to Scotland to
ensure the quality and character of the
casks it uses to mature its single malt.

Notes

Producer's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Rich concentrated fruity flavours with
dark chocolate, sweet fondant orange and
sultanas. Also notes of soft sweet
caramel and runny honey.
Taste:
Incredibly fruity echoing the nose,
moist fruitcake flavours with lighter
citrus (orange) and sweet red apples and
a hint of liquorice.
Finish: Soft, sweet and incredibly well rounded.
