Get creative
this Fathers Day with Ardbeg's smoky
dark fruit An Oa Island Highball.

Unfortunately this year you wont be
able to take your Dad out to a
up-market bar and spoil him with a
whisky or two on Father's Day
but not to worry Ardbeg have a great
alternative for you if you fancy getting
creative and making your whisky
loving Dad a Ardbeg An Oa Island
Highball.
The Ardbeg An Oa Island
Highball is described as: "a deliciously
smoky creamy serve ideal for the
dram-loving dad this Father’s Day", they
say that the Island Highball combines the complex
smoky toffee notes of Ardbeg An Oa with
the tannic nature of blackcurrants
through the cocktail’s dark fruit
cordial. The result is a perfectly
balanced cocktail, for both the whisky
newcomer and connoisseur.
Ardbeg’s singularly rounded An Oa is a
dram with smoky power, mellowed by a
delectable, smooth sweetness. Featuring
Ardbeg’s hallmark peat, dark chocolate
and aniseed are wrapped in smooth, silky
butterscotch, black pepper and clove,
before rising to an intense crescendo of
flavour.
So what do you need to create a Ardbeg
An Oa Island Highball:
Ingredients:
- 50ml Ardbeg An Oa
- 10ml dark fruit cordial
- 10ml dry vermouth
- 120ml Mediterranean tonic water
- Garnish: Rosemary sprig and lime
wedge
Method:
- Add the Ardbeg An Oa, cordial and
vermouth into an ice-filled highball or
rocks glass (or failing those, a jam
jar) and top with tonic water, just as
you would a G&T. Stir with a long spoon
(a butter knife will do) – this is
important to get the sugars mixed right
through. To finish, garnish it with the
rosemary sprig and lime wedge.
