Raise A Glass
To The 2nd Auchentoshan Whisky Festival

Following the success of the first
Auchentoshan Whisky Festival last year,
Morrison Bowmore Distillers has
announced that it will be staging a
second celebration of gourmet food and
drink at Scotland’s only triple
distilled whisky distillery by Dalmuir
in Clydebank on Saturday 28 August.
From 11am to 5pm, the unique whisky
festival will offer families a
jam-packed array of entertainment
including fantastic live music, comedy,
cookery demonstrations from top chefs
and live mixology shows. Tasting
sessions, a real ale tent and Scotland’s
number one farmer’s market will also be
part of the line up.
In 2009 Morrison Bowmore invested
£46,000 in the first Auchentoshan Whisky
Festival, which benefited the local
community and economy by welcoming over
2,600 visitors to the event and the
Clydebank area.
The 2010 Auchentoshan Whisky Festival
promises to build on last year’s success
by offering an even wider variety of
activities and entertainment to the
widest audience, including both whisky
lovers, foodies and families from across
the central belt and around Scotland.
The Auchentoshan Whisky Festival is not
just for the adults. Regular shows will
be running where kids can learn how to
juggle at a circus workshop, giggle out
loud at the comedy class and be amazed
in the magic show. Face painting,
balloon modelling and giant bubbles will
also be keeping the younger visitors
busy throughout the day.
As well as the main attractions at this
year's festival, whisky tours and a
variety of masterclasses held in the
distillery will be on offer. Visitors
booking places on the master classes
will have the chance to taste the
Auchentoshan core range, a chocolate and
whisky pairing class and a unique
opportunity to sample some of the finest
limited editions from Bowmore,
Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch.
A visit to this year’s festival will
also offer visitors the chance to bottle
their own Auchentoshan straight from the
cask as an ultimate souvenir. Bottles
will be filled from a cask which has
been specifically selected due to its
excellent quality, exceptional flavours
and to commemorate this year’s festival.
The Bottle Your Own Auchentoshan will
available for purchase on the day for
only £70 per bottle.
Auchentoshan’s Head Distiller Jeremy
Stephens has hand selected the first two
hundred bottles of this year’s limited
edition release – a 1998 cask strength,
Sherry Matured variety, bottled
specially for the 2010 Auchentoshan
Whisky Festival. Each bottle is hand
numbered and comes with a certificate of
authenticity signed by Jeremy. The 1998
Limited Edition Auchentoshan will
available for purchase on the day for
only £50 per bottle.
To book tickets in advance or for more

Whisky Festival visit

purchased on the day. The £7.50 entry
fee includes a delicious Auchentoshan
dram and tour of the distillery.
Masterclasses can be booked separately.
The Auchentoshan Distillery is located
just off A82 and close to the Erskine
Bridge by Dalmuir, Clydebank, Glasgow.
In 2008 Morrison Bowmore invested
£500,000 in the Auchentoshan Distillery
Visitor Centre, helping to boost
Glasgow’s tourism by offering distillery
tours, whisky sampling and a cinema, as
well as flexible conference and event
facilities. The Auchentoshan Distillery
Visitor Centre welcomes around 25,000
visitors each year and holds a five-star
quality accreditation from VisitScotland.
Established in 1823 and home to the
number one lowland malt whisky, the
Auchentoshan Distillery is one of the
few remaining working lowland
distilleries in Scotland. The distillery
was purchased by Morrison Bowmore in
1984.
Auchentoshan is unique in that its
whisky is the only triple distilled
spirit currently produced in Scotland.
Double distillation is used in all other
Scottish distilleries.
