Fancy
toasting Scotland's national bard at a Burns Night tasting event with a
artistic BenRiach twist.
With Burns Night fast approaching I
am certain that a few of you will be
looking for a good dram to celebrate the
occasion whether you will be dancing the
night away, tucking into a plate of
Haggis & Neeps at a Burns supper, or
simply sitting by the fire and raising a
glass of Scotland's finest whisky to
celebrate Scotland's national bard,
Rabbie Burns birthday.
If you will be in or around London
during the Burn's weekend celebrations
here is a slightly different event on
the 24th January which you may enjoy
"Painting by tasting notes with
BenRiach" which is part of
DrinkUp.London's Scotch Whisky Weekend.
The Burns weekend with a twist will be
exploring the vibrant palette of
BenRiach's multi-layered Scotch single
malt whisky. You will hear about the
creative art of whisky-making and take
part in an interactive 'painting by
tasting notes' session hosted by Dr.
Rachel Barrie and award-winning
contemporary landscape artist Ellis
O'Connor.
BenRiach is renowned for sourcing some
of the most experimental and eclectic
casks in the world for its maturation
process to produce its delicious,
multi-layered flavour. To explore the
vibrant palette of this single malt,
they've teamed up with award-winning
contemporary landscape artist Ellis
O’Connor who has created a collection of
paintings inspired by the tasting notes
of its signature malt - the BenRiach 10
year old.
During the evening you'll hear about the
creative whisky-making process from
BenRiach Master Blender Dr. Rachel
Barrie herself, before being guided
through an in-depth, deconstructed
tasting of whiskies from each cask used
to mature the BenRiach Aged 10 Years
including Virgin Oak, Sherry and
Bourbon. Ellis O’Connor will also
exhibit her Palette of BenRiach
collection for the first time ever, and
share how she brought the BenRiach Aged
10 Years to life on canvas by exploring
the different casks used to mature this
single malt, as well as the distillery’s
landscape.
You'll then have the chance to put brush
to canvas yourself as you’re guided
through an interactive painting
masterclass with Ellis, exploring the
palette of BenRiach.
Tickets which are priced at only £10
include a welcome cocktail, tasting of
four whiskies and your own canvas
painting to take home - signed by Ellis
O’Connor and Dr. Rachel Barrie.
The "Painting by tasting notes with
BenRiach" will take place at TT Liquor,
17B Kingsland Rd, London, E2 8AA on
Friday 24th January between 18.00-20.45.
