& Co. unveils its Big Peat Fčis Ěle 2025
Limited Edition—an annual tribute to the
spirit of Islay and the world-famous
festival that celebrates it.
 From the award-winning range of Big Peat
Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, this
special release honours Fčis Ěle—The
Islay Festival—a ten-day celebration
that draws whisky lovers and Islay
enthusiasts from across the globe. It’s
a cherished tradition in the whisky
calendar, and Big Peat is once again be
part of the festivities with a bottling
crafted especially for the occasion.
This year’s limited edition is a 2010
Vintage, matured exclusively in
carefully selected Refill Hogsheads.
Douglas Laing tells me that it’s a nod
to Big Peat’s origins on the rugged
shores of Islay—his home and
inspiration. They say that the result is
a whisky bursting with signature Big
Peat character: rich layers of sweet
smoke, a briny maritime edge, and that
unmistakable smoky BBQ note. Bottled at
a robust 50% ABV, non-chill filtered and
without added colour, this small batch
release (40PPM) captures the raw,
untamed essence of Islay in every drop.
Packaged in a premium, foil-accented
carton with a bespoke label that
highlights its special release details,
the 2025 Fčis Ěle Edition is a standout
addition to the Big Peat line-up.
In addition to this celebratory release,
Douglas Laing Chairman Fred Laing has
hand-picked a rare single cask of Islay
Single Malt from Caol Ila Distillery.
Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2025,
this limited edition comprises just 150
bottles. Aged 14 years in a Refill
Hogshead and bottled at its natural cask
strength of 55.4% ABV, each bottle is
individually numbered and personally
signed by Fred himself.
Fred remarks, "It’s always a joy to be
involved in selecting Big Peat’s unique
single cask offerings. This one stood
out from the very first nosing—so much
so, we decided to bottle it just shy of
its 15th birthday."
Expect a bold profile brimming with
citrus zest, salted sweetness, toasted
nuts, and well-integrated oak. This
exclusive bottling is available only on
Islay during Fčis Ěle and promises to be
a must-have for collectors and
connoisseurs alike.
