Review of
Bushmills Red Bush Irish blended
whiskey.
 I
cant think of a better day than St.
Patrick's Day to let you know about a new
blended Irish whiskey from the Northern
Irish distillery Bushmills, they have
revealed Bushmills Red Bush as the
newest addition to their range of
blended whiskeys.
Bushmills Red Bush was matured
exclusively in American First Fill
Bourbon barrels and rather appropriately
launches first in the United States
which is testament to the surging
popularity which the Irish whiskey
category has experienced in the US in
recent years.
"While we’ve been innovating with our
aged whiskeys for centuries, we’re
excited to embark on a journey with the
millennial drinker," says Colum Egan,
Master Distiller at The Old Bushmills
Distillery. "Maturing the whiskey
exclusively in first fill bourbon
barrels creates an extremely smooth
spirit that will resonate with frequent
bourbon fans and first time Irish
whiskey drinkers."
Bottled at 40% ABV the new Bushmills Red Bush has a retail
recommended retail price of $23 for a
750ml bottle and should now be available
throughout the US and will be rolled out
in further global markets which have yet
to be confirmed

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
A touch of sweet vanilla, some gentle
oak spice and distant pear.
Taste:
A smooth entry with mild creamy vanilla
interlaced with a little red apple and
caramel.
Finish: A short length finish,
milk chocolate, just a touch of oak
spice, slightly drying.
Comment:
It certainly is as it has been billed, a
very approachable and a very easy to
drink Irish blended whiskey. Dropped a
few points on its short finish but
that's easily remedied with another
smooth mouthful. It should
appeal to both bourbon drinkers and
those new to whisky. Happy St. Patrick's
Day!
