Compass Box
celebrates 10 innovative years with 3
new special limited edition releases.
OK
I know Compass Box officially
celebrated there 10th anniversary on the
23rd October 2010 but I hadn't tasted
there 3 special limited release anniversary bottlings until now.
In the year 2000, John
Glaser entered the world of whisky,
establishing the Compass Box Whisky
Company and I
for one am very pleased that he
did.
As Compass Box does not distil whisky
the only influence they can have on the
final character of whisky is during the
maturation. Over the past 10 years John
Glaser has became known for his
innovative techniques particularly in
oak maturation and even coming into to
conflict with the Scotch Whisky
Association because of his innovative use
of wood in the maturation of his
excellent Spice Tree bottling.
Compass Box has has given us some very
compelling whiskies over the past 10
years and to mark their 10th anniversary
they have given us a another 3 stunning
drams, 3 special
limited edition anniversary bottlings.
The 3 new bottlings include a new edition
(the third release) of
Flaming
Heart which
is a blended malt containing I am told
good portions of Clynelish
and Caol Ila.
Double
Single which is a
unique blended whisky constructed of
Glen Elgin single malt whisky (76%) and
a 21 year old grain whisky distilled at
Port Dundas.
The 3rd anniversary release
is a very limited release (144 bottles)
of
Hedonism
38 year old which is a very special
single cask single grain whisky
distilled in 1971 at the Invergordon
Distillery.
You will find the full range of
Compass Box whisky including the 3
limited edition 10th
Anniversary bottlings available from
The Whisky Exchange
while stocks last.
