Introducing
The Dalmore 102 Proof Aged 12 Years, a
new limited-edition Highland single malt
and it isn't just a higher strength
expression of the existing Dalmore 12
Year Old.

The Dalmore has unveiled The Dalmore 102
Proof Aged 12 Years, a limited-edition
Highland single malt Scotch whisky
bottled at 51% ABV. Developed
specifically for its higher strength,
the new expression combines American
white oak ex-bourbon maturation with a
carefully constructed selection of
Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
Rather than simply bottling its existing
12 Year Old at a higher strength, The
Dalmore’s whisky makers have created a
distinct composition designed to deliver
greater intensity while preserving the
balance and character of the
distillery’s spirit.
The Dalmore 102 Proof: Cask Maturation
and Whisky Making
The Dalmore’s new make spirit is
characterised by a robust malt profile
and bright citrus notes. For this
release, the whisky spends its first 10
years maturing in American white oak
ex-bourbon barrels, developing sweetness
while allowing the spirit’s distinctive
character to shine through.
The whisky is then divided between
Oloroso sherry casks and bespoke casks
created exclusively for The Dalmore by
its long-standing partner, González
Byass. These bespoke casks combine
classic and aged Oloroso sherry with
sweet Pedro Ximénez, adding further
depth and richness to the distillery’s
house style.
The whiskies are subsequently reunited
and harmonised before being bottled at
51% ABV, equivalent to 102 proof, giving
the expression its name. The increased
strength is intended to enhance its
texture, complexity and structure.
Tasting Notes: The Dalmore 102 Proof
Aged 12 Years
The Dalmore 102 Proof opens with aromas
of candied citrus, sun-dried raisins,
treacle toffee and warming oak spice.
On the palate, forest berries combine
with Seville orange marmalade, fruit
cake and dark chocolate, complemented by
a subtle hint of sweet liquorice. The
finish is smooth and lingering, with
notes of dried fruit, freshly roasted
coffee and dark chocolate truffle.
Bottled at 51% ABV, this Highland single
malt offers versatility as well as
intensity. Enjoyed neat, it delivers a
full-bodied experience, while adding
water or ice allows its flavours to
develop with dilution. Its higher
strength also makes it suitable for
spirit-forward whisky cocktails.

The Dalmore 102 Proof Aged 12 Years
