Whisky Focus - Dalwhinnie Distillery Welcomed Scottish Whisky Bar Workers

The Dalwhinnie distillery opened its doors to 25 Scottish bar teneders during the inaugural International Scotch Whisky Day.

Last Friday 10th February, the inaugural "International Scotch Day" the Dalwhinnie Distillery, Scotland's highest distillery at 326 metres above sea level, opened it doors for free to welcome a group of 25 representatives from some of Scotland’s traditional whisky bars and five-star hotels for a distillery tour.

Diageo’s Scotch Whisky Ambassador, Ervin Trykowski was on hand to show the visitors around and to help raise their awareness and deepen their knowledge of the classic Highland single malt and of Scotch in general. Ervin and the Dalwhinnie visitors were not alone in raising a glass to celebrate the day, Diageo opened the doors to its 12 distillery visitor centres throughout Scotland and there were official International Scotch Day celebrations all over the world, the proceedings were fronted by world-renowned supermodel, Coco Rocha and award-winning actress, Freida Pinto. Whisky drinkers in London saw a selection of London’s best bars joining in on the celebrations by offering with limited-edition Scotch whisky cocktails, created by some of the city’s leading mixologists.
