Douglas
Laing's Old
Particular Single Cask series and
Scallywag Speyside Malt were awarded
Best Packaging at
the World Whiskies Design Awards.
It seems that the team at Douglas Laing
not only turn out some excellent
whiskies to keep us whisky drinkers
entertained but they are also a creative
bunch. The Glasgow based whisky
specialists have been recognised by the
judges at the World Whiskies Design
Awards for their newest releases - Old
Particular Single Casks and Scallywag
Speyside Malt.
The World Whiskies
Design Awards celebrate excellence in
bottle, label and pack design and are
judged by an international panel of
design experts.
Douglas Laing picked up the award for
‘Best Whisky Range’ for their
Old Particular, their
core Single Malt
Single Cask range which they launched
in September 2013,
it was the first new brand in the new
era at Douglas Laing. This is a
well deserved acknowledgement of the
thought and creativity that DL have put
into the new range as the packaging
for the range pays great attention to
detail, it is presented in a premium gift
tube, both the tube and bottle are
regionally colour coded and have a good
descriptive unpretentious tasting note
telling you what you can expect to find
in the bottle. Oh, and the whisky is
pretty good also.
 Scallywag
picked up the award for ‘Best Blended
Malt’, launched in November 2013, it is a sherried Small
Batch blended malt created using only
the finest Speyside Malts including
Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes.
Although Old
Particular Single Casks series and Scallywag
were only launched in the 2nd half of
2013, both whiskies have quickly become
firm favourites with Whisky enthusiasts
worldwide and the independent family
owned firm is understandably delighted
with this latest accolade:

The 2014 World Whisky Awards were
announced at an awards ceremony in
London on Thursday 20th March 2014.
