I just opened the sn2010 tonight, love it, there is a youngness but it probably makes the whisky, earthy, powerful peatyness, long finish, i love it. |

I have had a few more Ardbeg SN2010 tonight and this is what i thought:
Nose: Big earthy, peat smoke, pepper on top of sweet vanilla and burnt cereal. A bit of water tames it a little, letting more of the sweet vanilla through, mossy, a lighter pepper and more delicious smoky peat.
Taste: Bang... an instant hit of big smoke and salt. Dry earthy cocoa but less than the nose told me, little oil. Zesty lemon, peppery spice.
Finish: Dark chocolate, smoky, warming and dry. Hangs around for a very long time getting drier as time passes.
Very well rounded for its young age, fresh and packed full with character. The SN2010 is more complex and packs more punch than last years offering. If money was no object this would be a regular for me.

| I had a couple of goes at it on Friday and Saturday, excellent. I tried to have an Ardbeg 10 last night after a couple of Supernovas but it just seemed a poor relation, so my tip would be, if you plan a bit of an Ardbeg tasting leave the Supernova to last. |

At a mini tasting with a few friends round at mates house tonight. Someone brought a bottle of the sn2010, i'm hooked. We all brought a bottle each and the Ardbeg Supernova was the hit of the night for all 6 of us there.

We started with a bottle of Ardbeg Blasda then Springbank 18, Laphroaig 18, Smokehead 18, Lagavulin 12 (2009) and finished with the Ardbeg Supernova SN2010. We had a couple of drams out of each bottle on the night and split the rest into samples bottles to take away. They were all great but as i said the SN2010 was the hit of the night. |

| Interesting how you all liked the sn2010 as it was amongst some quality company. |

It was very good, full peat smoke but with extra vanilla and a smoothness missing from the normal Smokehead. I would recommend it and would certainly pick up another bottle. |
