I've seen lots of Snow Phoenix on Ebay, all saying these bottles are sold out.

I can't see how this can be legal. I bought a bottle back in October from a small supermarket in Windermere......I had the intention of opening it on Christmas day and savouring the evening.

If this bottle is likely to increase in value, maybe I should buy another?

Is this likely? Id have to buy another bottle, I don't think I could leave it now........ lol, ive set my heart on savouring it, Christmas will be RUINED now!!!

I am pretty sure this will increase in value given that it is a limited edition from a very sought after whisky brand who in recent years have rarely released limited edition bottlings. You wont make a fortune on this bottle but you will make a few pound, personnally i am planning on drinking my bottle.

I'm starting to think I'll regret not buying one, from a financial standpoint! How much do you guys think it'll fetch from next year onwards?

You may still be able to get one, try this link and hopefully you will be in luck Very Happy

Cheers Roy, managed to get my order in! Not sure whether it's for drinking or the collection yet, though I have a feeling I'll probably open it at some point!

Welcome to the forum mate,

Don't ruin Xmas, buy another from Glenfiddich and open the one you have on Xmas morning as I will then when the other arrives in the New Year, save it and if you desire sell it in a couple of years.

Regards,

Roy

Breaking news - a little birdie has told me that Snow Phoenix will be going into a handfull of Waitrose stores at the end of January. Not sure which ones but I am sure a little research with Waitrose will yeild the answers.

Not sure but i suspect they must have had some sort of distribution hic up with the Snow Phoenix, they done all the marketing, everyone wanted it but only a lucky few could get it causing prices to soar on the likes of ebay. Now if you want a bottle you can find one no problem. But unfortunately for Glenfiddich this is a bottle which had a huge demand in the christmas gift market and the marketing hype has dimmed and it is no longer top of the list in online whisky sites news sections. But perhaps most of the stock has gone now.

Incidentally the Snow Phoenix is now available over at The Whisky Exchange for £49.99 only 2 per customer.

Mark is probably right about the distribution thing, also I've heard conflicting things about the number of bottles available - as far as I know it's either 1600 or 2000. It's very strange that it's only available in Waitrose and The Whisky Exchange after Christmas, but given that it's still available it might be a while until the price goes up again if anyone's planning to sell it as an investment.

Not sure of the total number of bottles but worth buying just for drinking and considering there was some 30 year old in the vatting it wasnt a bad price. I very much enjoyed it, i have even been considering another bottle and trying not to drink it. Shocked

I was told yesterday by a Glenfiddich rep that there were 60,000 bottles of the Snow Phoenix produced for world wide distribution and they don't anticipate anymore releases.

I have almost finished a bottle and have another untouched which will remain untouched for a few years i think and if it is selling for ridiculous prices then i may have to sell and replace it with s a few bottles of something else Smile
