Got mine too, and whilst pleasant, I actually thought it was a bit of a let-down. Maybe I expected more 'bite' (pardon the pun), but found it very easy to drink, almost too easy. The label says to add water straight away, but I personally think it doesn't need any at all.
There isn't as much fire and spice as I expected, but more of a fairly ordinary Ardbeg with a reasonably hefty dose of liquorice.
Don't get me wrong, I like it, but I have had much much more complex Ardbegs from the Society for a lot less money, and will more than likely be buying 10YO, Uigeadail or Corryvreckan in future from the distillery. _________________ Rob Hughes

I was hanging on for no reason other than I would have time this weeksend to buy it..
Im not so sure now. Id buy it to drink....of course, but I thought this may have been one for the collection.
Im not so sure now. Theres a few Glenmorangies Ive bought that I just dont like, Seems the alligator my just be a simple "reduced sales" mock auction.
Id like to hear what others actually thought of the whisky. Im of the opinion I wont be rushing to buy 3 now........Sometimes a poor whisky can be worth a few bob due to its scarecity...even if its a poor drink.
Any more tasting notes/recommendations good or bad? |

I had the same feeling. I compared it to Airigh Nam Beist, which I definitely thought won this round. |

| Saved the Alligator to try tonight and i have to say i am dissapointed, it is a decent enough dram but not in the class of the previous committee bottlings such as Corryvreckan or even Rollercoaster and definitely not Supernova which i have just poured myself a large dram of. |

| I have been drinking my Ardbeg Alligator tonight i am really enjoying it, IMO it beats the Rollercoaster and Corryvreckan. Very happy with my purchase. |
