It was originally listed at this price in the summer and promptly sold out, possibly because of COVID affecting the supply chain or something, then naturally scalping and panic buying set in as people probably felt this was gonna be like the Traigh Bhan and be released in limited batches that sell out fast... and so when the Wee Beastie returned to Amazon it was listed at a slightly more expensive £39.
I quickly ordered when it returned to £36 but forgot to post that they'd dropped the price a few days back. Bottle came without a box, which is unusual for Ardbeg. Has it came with a box for anyone else? Perhaps somone who ordered from another etailer? I've not seen any promotional photos of the bottle with a box so assume it was released as just a "naked" bottle. |

| OOps, forgot I asked about the box, thanks for the feedback guys, figured there was no box but nice to get confirmation. Cracked open my bottle a couple of nights ago and it' s certainly got more of that medicinal peat kick and less of the ash of the older offerings, but it's a nice dram and an Ardbeg that's less than frty quid right out of the gate is very welcome indeed! |

Okay I have a question..
I have just opened a new bottle of Wee beastie and I was really shocked at how peaty this one is!. So I checked it against the sample bottle I saved from the first bottle I brought back in April/May 2020 and yes it has so much more of the peat and smoke coming out.
Yes you can still taste it is young and has the chocolate and salty notes but to my taste buds it is not the same whisky.
Has anyone else found this? |

It's pretty common for heavily peated whisky to lose it's peatiness after being open for a while. I'd imagine the sample has mellowed since you opened the first bottle. |

It could of been that but my sample bottle was full so it should not of lost anything in that time. Also this is the 3rd bottle I have had as the first two were exactly the same to my taste buds but this one is so different I made this post.. |

Tesco had it on offer a few weeks ago for £33, i would guess Sainsburys will match that at some point. |
