Just wondered how many bottles fellow forum members have open at any one time. I have always tried to limit this but with very limited success as i can never resist opening a new bottle i havent tried before.
I just done a count and i have 52 bottles opened at the moment, just wondered how many bottles others on here have open.

I just done a quick count, i have 37 bottles open and 170 on standby. Mac I know what you mean it is so difficult not to just open a whisky you havent tasted yet. I have had 50 plus open quite often, in fact i try to limit myself to 50 bottles open or their abouts.

I sort of control my open bottles by having 3 shelves for open bottles, each shelf has no more than 10 - 12 bottles on it at any time. The top shelf are newly opened bottles with no more than a few drams out of them, the middle shelf for bottles around half full and the bottom shelf holds bottles with no more than a few drams left in them. Unopened bottles which i have around 50 are stored away in cupboards.
I find it controls the number i have open and stops me forgetting about some that have been opened a while.

I have 65 bottles open but isnt it rude to count. Although in my defense around 20 of them are almost finished.

I am obviously just a part timer as i have no more than 30 open at any one time. It is very tempting though just to pop the cork on any new bottles you buy that you havent tried yet.

I always have around 30 bottles open. My problem is finding space for them as well as the unopened bottles which i have about 180 unopened.

To be honest i am not really sure exactly how many i have opened or unopened, i would guess and say i have around 50 to 60 opened all with various levels in the bottles. As far as unopened is concerned, due to lack of space i have them stored away all over the house including the loft and the garage, so difficult to do a quick count, but i think around 250.

I usually have about 20 bottles opened and about 40 unopened, like others lack of space determines what i can store at any one time.

i dont really have an open bottle limit but i do try to be sensible although sometimes i end up with way too many bottles open. My wife actually did a count one time and i had 76 bottles opened but i think i am usually around 40 to 50.

I am just starting to build up a decent selection, i am still finding my likes and dislikes. I now have 15 bottles opened and have i think 20 now unopened but plan on adding to that this week just in the process of reading tasting notes and reviews trying to decide what will be my next victims.

I have about 40 opened and around 80 unopened. I am restricted by storage space, i have never fancied using the loft or garage.

Due to storage limits in a small apartment, i make do with a smaller amount but this is constantly changing. I have 20 bottles open and purchase another 4 -6 bottles every month. I always try to buy at least 2 whiskies which i havent had previously.
