Doing Bowmore on the Wednesday. I was planning on Jura on the Thursday, quite looking forward to the Jura visit and hopefully getting to taste some different Juras.

It was a choice between Jura or Kilchoman on the Thursday and I just thought Kilchoman wont exactly have a huge range of whisky to try yet so Jura would definitely make the better day.

I am sure you will enjoy Jura Fergie, in fact i just had a couple of drams of Isle of Jura Sacred Mountain 15 Year old this evening which i can recommend and if you get the chance to try the Jura 21 year old it is excellent.

I agree the Sacred Mountain was a pretty good dram surprisingly though the Mountain of Gold 15 Pinot Noir finish from this Jura Paps series was very poor it put me off trying the other bottle in this series of 3

I should have mentioned in case you are not aware, the excellent 21 year old was discontinued and replaced by an 18 year old which i cant comment on as i havent had but you can still find the 21 year old in the whisky shops such as The Whisky Exchange.

Sorry, dont mean to butt in on a discussion about an event which i cannot attend but i agree the Jura 21 was very good but is the 18 year old a permanent (if there is any such thing) part of the Jura core range as i cant see it mentioned on the Jura web site. Maybe i am not looking hard enough.

I see what you mean Mac, the Jura 18 doesnt appear to be anywhere to be found on the Jura website, not sure myself if it was just a limited release. I have never tried it either so cant make a comment on it.

At the moment, the permanent Jura range is the 10 (Origin), 16 (Diurach Choice), Superstition and Prophecy. At the moment there is also the three boutique expressions.

I was just looking at the 3 new Jura boutique barrels range over at The Whisky Exchange. The Jura 1999 Bourbon Xu Finish Heavy Peat bottled at 55% looks interesting and as it says on TWE it is the cheapest of the 3

Jura is doing an additional 4th session on Thursday for those who are not lucky enough to attend the other sessions in person at the distillery.
At 7pm on Thurs 27th May pull up a chair, switch on your computer and you can enjoy a special tasting of the Jura Boutique Barrel collection with myself and Willie Tait & Willie Cochrane.
They will take you through their 3 new limited edition vintages, 1993, 1995 and 1999 and share their own personal insights. These are specially hand selected, cask strength, non-chill filtered whiskies.
On the night they will also be selecting at least 3 lucky winners from their Diurach register to each win a hand-signed set of the Jura Boutique Barrel collection (and maybe more!)
So if you are not already a Diurach you need to head over to the isle of Jura website and sign-up for free to be in with a chance to winning.
