Diageo has now revealed the two limited-edition single cask bottlings especially bottled for the 2010 Islay Festival.
The 2010 bottlings will be from a Lagavulin cask filled in August 1994 and from a Caol Ila cask filled in August 1999. Both malts have been bottled at natural cask strength, and will be priced at £74.99. The bottles will be rationed to one per visitor.

I managed to get myself both of these bottles when i was over in islay.
Got to Lagavulin at about 9.30am and there where about 50 people in the Q in front of me but got one no problem when the shop opened at 10am.
To my suprise at Coal ila there was only about 20 people there wh
en the shop opened at 10am but i herd that this bottle sold out before the end of the day so must of been busy as the day went on at the shop.
But at £74.99 each they where not cheap!! |

Afraid i have not opened them and i dont think i will because the price of these have sky rocked on ebay etc so think they will be another addition to my every expanding collection.
Treated myself to about 16 bottles when i was in islay and i think very few will be getting opened as the prices of them are going up and up.
Take the kilchoman Feis ile 2010 bottle payed £45 for it and it is selling for £200 plus so......
But must say i am very tempted with a few! |

That is my problem, i am too easily tempted and more often than not end up opening something that could have paid for 10 more bottles of some other decent malt. |
