|
|
I have heard that Aberlour have released a new 10 year sherried finish. I have alway been a Aberlour drinker as i think they offer great value for money but cant find any info on this one, even tried the Aberlour website, anyone know anything about it?

Hi Kray
This is new here in the UK. Previously only available in France where Aberlour is the top malt whisky brand. Given the price and quality of Aberlour i am sure that the Aberlour 10 SCF is going to be very popular in the UK.
The Aberlour 10 Sherry Cask Finish has been matured in traditional oak casks then it was filled into sherry oak casks from the Bodegas of Jerez where it finished its maturation. The sherry oak cask finish adds complexity to the whisky with hints of dried fruits and sherry notes, as well as a gentle oaky finish. A perfect balance of richness and oak.
It has been bottled at 43% ABV which is higher than the standard 10 year old.
It is already available over at The Whisky Exchange for £28.95, you will find it listed under their new products and news section.

| This is a new one to me also. William i see the pic you posted shows different packaging/label than the bottle over at theWhisky Exchange, so i guess it may have been around a while since the packaging appears to have changed, strange i havent come across it before as i do like the Aberlour range. |

| As i said it was only previously available in France. Not sure how long it has been in the UK market, i was given the impression it has only just been released here. I see what you mean by slightly different packaging, the pic i posted is in line with the recent packaging update (May 2010 i think) across the Aberlour range, all i can think is that they must have bottled some using the older packaging. |

| I wonder if it will find its way over to this side of the water. |
