I just wanted to share that I am enjoying this bottle, which was a complete blind buy for me.
Anyone else had this and care to comment?

It appears my quest to see how many views I can get without a reply is well underway! LOL |

Anyway, i also enjoy the Oban 14. IMO it is one of the better "Classic Malts" from Diageo but they dont seem to push it as much as some of the others.

| The Oban is a very nice dram, i wish it was as widely available in the supermarkets as the other 5 Diageo classic malts but it isnt for some reason. |

| Mac: So if Oban is one of the better 'classic malts' where does it rank among the other five in your opinion? I've been meaning to try it for a while but, as you said, it doesn't seem to be as widely promoted as the others. |

I enjoy all the classic malts but my personal order of preference would be:
1. Talisker
2. Lagavulin
3. Oban
4. Dalwhinnie
5. Cragganmore
6. Glenkinchie

Yay!! Replies!!
I am having some right now and it is so nice
I have some bottles I am SUPER excited to pop open in the days and weeks ahead, including Dalmore King Alexander, and Bruichladdich Black Art and Golder Still
This is a relatively new obsession for me so I am excited to talk about it.
Thanks for the replies so far guys!

I like all the classic malts but although ok i probably wouldnt buy the Glenkinchie, it doesnt do it for me. It just depends on my mood, which of the others i prefer.
wired i hope the Dalmore is good as i have never been impressed by Dalmore in general so i stay away from it now. |

Thanks! Yeah, the Dalmore was a risk, but it has received a lot of positive reviews so I figured I would give it a go!
I just ordered two bottles of that Elements of Islay special bottling... looked interesting. Right now I have open bottles of Macallan 12 and 15, Oban 14, and Glenrothes Select Reserve which is WAY better than I expected
I kind of went overboard and ordered a bunch of stuff recently so if nothing else, I have variety! |

| Wired, I envy you. My obsession with single malts is also relatively new but budget won't allow me to buy all the bottles I'd like for a while. At the moment I only have a Talisker, which I don't drink often because it's my favourite and I don't want it to finish (!) and a Bowmore. So many other options to explore! |

Alexppp,
I understand completely! But sometimes a limited budget can truly lead you to a better appreciation, as well as a better purchase! After all, being discerning is a lot easier when you have to be
I hope you enjoy the rest of your Talisker... Mmmmm Talisker LOL! |

That's true - that's why I've been stalking these forums and generally reading about whisky for the past few weeks - I can't afford my next purchase to be a blind one! It'll probably be a Macallan next for me... Haven't tried it yet but really looking forward to it! |

I really enjoy the Macallan 12 and it is very reasonably priced I would say it's a safe bet and hope you enjoy it! |
