The Whisky Show 2010 is on its way!
This years show will take place on the 29-30th October 2010 at a new venue "The Brewery".
Tickets for The Whisky Show 2010 are now available from The Whisky Show website.
The Brewery has been selected as the perfect venue for The Whisky Show 2010. Location in the heart of the City of London, the Grade II listed Brewery is a holder of a City Heritage Award and traces its heritage back 250 years when Samuel Whitbread established his brewery here. The main exhibition space is the Porter Tun room in which the storage vats were located, holding over one and a half million pints of beer. The oak beamed roof and wooden floors provide a traditional "malt house" feel and is one of the largest event spaces in the city. With a tastefully modernised and comfortable decor to the venue, The Brewery is an ideal space for sampling some of the finest and most exceptional whiskies available.
For more information about The Brewery, visit the website: www.thebrewery.co.uk
I dont have any info on ticket pricing, exibitors or masterclasses yet but I just thought i would pass on the dates so you can mark them in your calendar. If last years show is anything to go by you wont want to miss this.

I see what you mean Caterham7, it does appear to be legit, I wonder why they dont link to it from the main site.
I see the 2 day ticket is available for £130 with a "2009 purchase discount" i wonder if you had to attend both days last year to get this discount. Anyway it works out at £65 per day and includes a meal, not to mention the whisky, how can i resist. |

Tickets for The Whisky Show 2010 are now available from The Whisky Show website.
The standard one day ticket is £95 and a 2 day ticket is £160. I attended both days last year and i have to say it was excellent and great value for money considering the unbelievable line-up of whiskies that i got to try. My advice would be if you are considering attending this years event dont leave it too long.
I just added a piece on The Whisky Show 2010 to the Whisky News section of the site. See here www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/whiskyshow2010.htm

| I have been thinking about going to this. If there is anyone who attended last year would you say the 2 day ticket is worth getting or can you sample all worth sampling in 1 day. |

I went on the Friday last year and can honestly say there was the best selection of premium whisky available to taste that i have ever come across at any whisky tasting/event, i regretted not getting the 2 day ticket last year. I recommend going both days. |

The Masterclasses have been announced for this years Whisky Show and there are a few crackers.
The Whisky Show 2010 Masterclasses
We're finalising the last of the Masterclasses for this year's show - and if anything they're even better than last year's ground-breaking events. Tickets are now on sale for these mouth-watering tastings - each hosted by a leading industry expert - and full details of the line-ups for each event will be published over the next couple of weeks.
Friday 29th October
Glenmorangie Masterclass: Join Glenmorangie's Annabel Meikle on a trip focusing on the sherried side of the distillery's malts. There will be five special whiskies to taste, including the hotly-anticipated Finealta and the 30yo Malaga Finish, as well as some exclusive sherry-matured samples.
Friday 29th October, 5.30pm. Tickets £20. Click here to buy a ticket for this Masterclass.
There will be at least one more Masterclass on the Friday, we'll get the details up as soon as it's finalised.
Saturday 30th October
Clynelish vs. Brora Masterclass: Not so much a competition as a friendly discussion on the relative merits of the spirits from this legendary corner of the Highlands. Malt Maniac Serge Valentin, perhaps the world's leading authority on Brora & Clynelish, will be guiding us through a stunning selection of half a dozen of the best ever bottlings from these distilleries.
Saturday 30th October, 1.30pm. Tickets £45. Click here to buy a ticket for this Masterclass.
Tour of Islay Masterclass: A whistle-stop tour of five of our favourite drams from some of the world's most famous distilleries, with the emphasis on exploring different aspects of peatiness in whisky. Five of Islay's finest whiskies will be in the spotlight, including an incredibly rare 12 year-old Port Ellen, and the phenomenal 1968 Bunnahabhain Auld Aquaintance.
Saturday 30th October, 3.30pm. Tickets £37.50. Click here to buy a ticket for this Masterclass
The Ultimate Dalmore Masterclass: Bringing the curtain down on 2010's Whisky Show will be an event that will surely be one of the most talked-about tastings of the year anywhere in the world. Richard Paterson, Dalmore's Master Blender, will be taking us through five whiskies at the very zenith of the the distiller's art. This tasting will not only include Dalmore's extraordinary 40yo, but also the astonishing Candela 50yo (which sells for £7350) - and one lucky attendee will be chosen for a taste of something even more special:
Saturday 30th October, 5pm. Tickets £49. Click here to buy a ticket for this Masterclass.
Places will be limited so dont hang around if you want to attend any of them.
Tickets for The Whisky Show 2010 are now available from The Whisky Show website.

I am sure the Ultimate Dalmore Masterclass will be one to remember - a combination of 5 premium Dalmores including Dalmore 40, and the £7350 a bottle Candela 50 plus 3 other Dalmores. |

I noticed that the Clynelish vs. Brora Masterclass had sold out, no surprise as it should be a cracker.
If anyone is interested in the The Tour of Islay masterclass i wouldnt hang around as i think this will sell out soon also.
The Tour of Islay Masterclass
This tasting will be hosted by Mario Groteklaes of The Nectar in Belgium and will be focused on peat, and the many differing aspects of phenolic flavour it imparts. Five of Islay's finest will be used as examples:
Young Port Ellen (Mystery Bottling)
Lagavulin 12yo OB 1st Release (Bottled 2002)
Ardbeg 1977 OB
Bunnahabhain 1968 "Auld Aquaintance' Hogmanay edition
Laphroaig 30yo OB |
