|
|
I recently acquired a bottle of Glenmorangie as a christmas gift. It looks old and after doing a bit of research, i found out it was a discontinued style of bottle, but I cant find another bottle quite like it. It has some odd traits I havent seen in other pictures.
It says "Unblended" on the collar label, which i haven't seen yet
It also has a proofing of 86 which is something I haven't seen in other pictures either
heres a picture of the bottom if that helps in identifying at all
Other than that, the only other numbering is on the cap, which is CB22
Im not a scotch pro or anything, but after doing some reasearch, I became intrested in this bottle in hopes that I might be able to find out anything about it, specifically which year it was made it.
So if anyone here could provide any information, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Hi Chris and welcome to the SMW forum
Your bottle was bottled for the American market hence the distibutor in Detroit and the 86* Proof which is 43% ABV. The unblended statement and what looks like a screw cap makes me think it was bottled around the 1960s - 1970s |

Awesome man, thanks! I got it from a guy that owned a bar in California and he gave it to me in Florida, where I now live. So I guess this bottle has made quite the journey to my hands. Unfortunately, it was already opened, so I doubt its worth any money now, but i did drink a spot of it and it was incredibly smooth and very tasty. So I guess its worth my enjoyment now haha. Like I said, Im not a connoisseur, but i will definitely be enjoying some with friends on Christmas eve! |
