When passing through Glasgow airport i noticed that they now have Johnnie Walker Double Black but unfortunately they didnt have any for tasting.
Has anyone tried it yet? As i can pick up a bottle on my return journey, just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on it as i havent yet read any reviews on it. |

| Calder it was only £27 and a few pence for a 1 litre bottle, i just dont what to buy something that isnt that good when there is such a big choice at the airport at good prices. |

I picked up a bottle of it at the airport last month and it is excellent, i would predict this will be very popular indeed and may act as a stepping stone for the Johnnie Walker Black Label drinkers to move onto single malts. I think the extra smokiness of the Double Black may trigger many peoples curiosity.
I hadnt heard that it was coming to the UK high street, in fact it hasnt been in UK travel retail long, i had heard Diageo was making it available in the US in the run up to christmas. I keep meaning to sit down with a few drams of it some evening and add a piece and a review to the site as it is really a big deal for Diageo and so far its looking a very successful addition to the Johnnie Walker range. _________________ There's no bad whisky. | A mate told me the new JW Double Black is very good, he said it was still a blend but far superior to the standard black label even though it doesnt carry an age statement. |
