I am searching for images of distilleries ( not photographs) which I can photograph with a view to eventually producing a book. I need members help in tracking these down . They are often but not always in the form of posters. I am particularly interested in long closed distilleries. I suspect such images are long forgotten on the walls of pubs , hotels , even shops . A few may be in distilleries but that is less likely with so many changes of ownership I found one recently for Glen Coull ( Justinhaugh between Brechin and Forfar - shut in 1920) in a farmhouse at the lop of a glen only 10 miles from the distillery} It had been hanging on the farmhouse wall for 50 years since being retrieved from a Dundee off license before the war. Aberdeen had three distilleries - Devanha ( which I have) Bon Accord and Strathdee (which I don't ) My intention is to photograph the sites as they are now from exactly the place where the original image was drawn. This was the original project on which I was engaged before getting sidetracked and producing the book 'Bottled History'
