Hello everybody just wondering how much this bottle is worth. I am not a whisky drinker but I want someone to enjoy this bottle and I know that it is hard to come by. Any information would be very helpful thanks again. Also it is numbered 5796 of 6000.

Sorry the release was 2001.

smitty is this a distillery bottling or independent bottling. Could you post all the info from the label.

There was a Port Ellen 1979 22 Year Old, Diageos 1st annual special release. It was a limited edition of 6000 bottles, i would guess this is the one. Have you got a pic and is it still in the box? I have seen a few sell on ebay lately for around Â£500 - Â£600. Some of the online whisky shops are asking around Â£1000 for it.
