Hi all new to the site and looking for some answers. My Mother worked for Glenmorangie years ago and every year she gets a bottle at christmas some years ago she was given a bottle (see link please) and now it has been passed to me. I am not looking to sell the bottle but it would be nice to know if it is worth keeping or give it to someone who will apreciate the taste more than me.

Not 100% sure if the bottle you have is the Glenmorangie Maltmans Special Reserve 18 year old the decanter looks the same but the packaging is different from anything else i have seen. Does it say 18 year old anywhere on the decanter or on the packaging. Distilleries sometimes issue unique limited edition bottles to their workers perhaps this is one of them and this may explain why i am not familiar with the packaging. Anyway if it is the 18 year old i would value it around £140 up to £200 on a good day at auction.
The legend says that alcoholic beverages of one kind or another occurred around Tain distillery from the Middle Ages. The was purchased by its largest customer, the company Leith Macdonald and Muir, 1918. Macdonald family would retain control of the company for nearly 90 years. The distillery is owned by Glenmorangie Company Ltd, whose main product is the range of Glenmorangie single malt whiskey. The company also owns the distillery Glenmorangie and Ardbeg in Islay Scotch Whisky Society of Malta based in Leith, Edinburgh. _________________ translation services
