Sample Vouchers
Are the event's currency to enable you to sample whisky as no sample can be tasted without exchanging a quantity of vouchers. You receive a number of vouchers as part of your entrance ticket with further vouchers available at a cost of £1.50 each during the show. You will require between 1 to 3 vouchers for each sample, depending on the age and rarity of the whisky. The principle is that un-aged whiskies or whiskies under 12 years are 1 voucher, whiskies over 22 years of age are 3 vouchers.
Masterclasses
The masterclasses provide a varied programme of tasting for those who would like a more in-depth whisky experience and a chance to learn from acknowledged experts in the field. These are tutored by renowned experts in the field and run for 45 minutes to an hour. The masterclass information for 2011 will be confirmed closer to the show.
Tasting Hall
This is where you can taste the whisky from Scotland to Kentucky, mingle with the producers and distillers, independent bottlers and brand ambassadors and meet the stars of the industry! The sheer range of whisky on show will challenge even the most determined taster; everything from old favourites to unusual finishes and rare bottlings. The very best whiskies of the world all under one roof.
Whisky Experiences
The Whisky Experience areas are the education and entertainment zones, with themed areas providing sensory experiences such as coopering, whisky blending, cocktails and food and whisky combinations with new opportunities to enjoy one leading whisky matched with cheese, chocolate or salmon. With a dram always on hand the Whisky Experience seeks to educate and entertain those who want to learn a little more about the diversity of this delicious nectar.

| It has been a while since i have attended a Whisky Live event in Glasgow, i see they still have the voucher system as well as high ticket prices. I think i will wait to see what the line up of whiskies is announced closer to the time of the event before buying a ticket which are not cheap for what is on offer. |

| I think i would want to know exactly what "VIP Lounge, VIP dinning, 10 sample vouchers additional VIP entertainment and goodies" consists of before buying a ticket and of course a list of the exibitors. |

I know it is early days but I see the list of exibitors for this event is looking very slim for the ticket price.
Exibitors so far:
Glen Moray
Glencairn Crystal
Glenfiddich
Springbank Distillers
I used to enjoy my trip up to Glasgow for this but it is difficult to predict whether it will be worth it. |

| I was just looking at this, still in 2 minds whether to buy a ticket, not exactly a big line up of distillers considering the ticket price, seems like you are paying for a meal which i personally wont want. |

Personally i would prefer some soup and a sandwich and some tea available for when i want to take a break. I wouldnt be looking for a meal i would eat before i go. |

I had a very enjoyable afternoon but they do need to get more exibitors to justify the ticket price.
It was good to get a chance to try some whisky from the SMWS, they had an excellent Port Charlotte but i cant remember the SMWS number. |

I agree a bit short on exibitors, not sure why they are staying away but i would suspect that the organisers are asking too much money for a stall.
Having said that there was still some great drams to be had. As always my visit to the Douglas Laing stall was very enjoyable. DL's Clan Denny Strathclyde 33 year old single grain whisky was excellent, deliciously sherried, vanilla and toffee, raisins, creme caramel, dark chocolate and burnt sugar, medium length finish drying and a bit of spice. I forget the price on this but it aint much for a whisky of this age or quality.
I agree Mark it was great to see the SMWS there, i enjoyed a few SMWS drams on the day particularly the the SMWS 35.40 Glen Moray a 26 year old refill sherry butt matured whisky, sweet sherried, toffee demerara sugar, excellent. Also had an excellent SMWS 33.109 Ardbeg 11 year old refill sherry butt, if you like Uigeadail you will love this one.
Refreshed my memory with some favourites such as Springbank 18 and Jura 21 both excellent. |

| I enjoyed the day also but Whisky Live have to do something to get more exibitors. Pleased i got the vip ticket as there was plenty of vip pours. The SMWS seemed to be doing some good business i seen quite a few people sign up. |
