Sad to see it go as it seems that it has always been there. Gordon says on the site "The industry seems to have taken the new Bloggers to heart and forgot about this little site ."
Thats a pity and IMO i think the industry is misguided if they think there regular whisky customers are reading all these whisky blogs. Personally i dont look at whisky blogs and i am sure there are many like me.

Totally agree, i think the industry wants to be connected to what is the current trend and maybe they are ignoring the fact that a lot more people are looking at sites like Spirit of Islay and indeed this site and not whisky blogs.
Personally i dont look at whisky blogs or any of the social networking type sites for news and insites into whats new in the whisky world. It seems like every day you see posts on this forum from first time posters trying to direct forum members to their blog. There are a few that are good and even entertaining but very little cover most of the latest whisky news and releases and that is what interests me.
