Just had a great trip to islay only had four days to squeeze trip in due to me and pal on opposite shifts but it was enough for what we wanted, had eve in bowmore then tour of bowmore very good tour really enjoyed it more traditional than I was expecting.
Then bus to port Ellen to drop off bags at next b and b , walked to ardbeg and was given the bad news as no tour as boiler getting replaced. But was taken thru eight different expressions in the chairmans room, and for free, fantastic
After too many in pub woke with a sore head and waked down to lagavulin another great tour then walked to laphroaig for the rare tasting and ended up having lots to sup lol it was really good lots of highgrove and 30 and not too much 2008 cairdeas as they had near none left , that was my favourite. We even got a lift back to the b and b
All the places we visited were great and I had a fantastic time laphroaig was my favourite before I went and still is but the laga double distilled is on my shopping list
I got home with laph 10, 18, qc, and 2008 cairdeas oh and a jacket and tshirt lol
All in all a great trip and met great people and me and my shift are goin back next year. I highly recommend it if you get chance |

| Sounds like you had a great visit. If you ever get th chance to visit during the Feis Ile (Islay Festival) i can highly recommend it. But i would recommend booking in advance for accommodation and special distillery events during the festival. The Feis Ile 2011 is soon, 21st to 28th May. |
