Auchentoshan Festival 2011

I have had it confirmed today it is CANCELLED!

Rumour for this is that they lost money last year and they cannot get enough staff to work this year!

To be hounest i think that this is total rubbish as they must of had around 700 people through the gates last year!

As for the staff i am sure there would be agencies they can use for events like this!

They say it will be held next year and every 2nd year after!

This is an odd thing to do as you would have thought that it would have been more established now and would have attracted even more visitors. Did they announce it is cancelled on the Auchentoshan site?

I just looked at the Auchentoshan site, it is still promoting last years open day as far as i can see and doesnt even mention an open day for 2011. So i suppose technically they havent even announced an open day for this year.

It is off, and i am told they are planning something good for next year..... its a shame but i am still going up on june 18th for a tour as plans were already sorted, anyone up for a meet and tour followed by a dram or two... our very own Auchentoshan open day ... Very Happy

As John let you know the Festival won't be happening this year.

They told me following the success of recent Auchentoshan Festivals, the festival will be back next Summer 2012 and will run bi-anually thereafter. They're already in the planning stages to make it even bigger and better so whenever i receive more details on this i shall let you know.

I mentioned to them about the Auchentoshan site being a bit out of date, they are going to have a look at it.

There are so many whisky brands that neglect there web sites. When whisky drinkers see an out of date site i would think they would simply not bother checking the site again in the future.

That is a pity it is cancelled but at least it will be back next year.

I am not sure what is going to happen about doing a ultimate tour as they can't do one that weekend....as they might still have something going on due to it been fathers day ....
