Hi JAB
Just ordered one for myself. I was a little reluctant at first as I think it is slightly expensive bearing in mind the ages of the two casks used, however I think that with it being a Macallan, it will be a safe investment. What do you think? |

| Tempted myself, for some reason i thought they were going to release an older whisky. Anyone know if there is any significance to the years 1996 & 1999 (apart from being filled on April 29th) and why they choose these. I cant say i really follow the royal family so i wouldnt know if these years are significant. |

There is no doubt Macallan is one of the more collectable whiskies but i have been over doing it with the purchases lately so will have to give this one a miss. Although the Macallan Ice Ball Machine is very tempting

Forbes here is a video of the Macallan Ice Ball machine in action, but be warned you will definitely want one after watching it.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes to sell out but I dont think The Macallan Royal Marriage bottle will be available for long. |

| Quite a mark up for what is a bottle of 11 year old whisky, but i am sure it will sell no problem. Watch for it on ebay next week selling for way more than £150 to non UK Macallan collectors who cant buy the Macallan Royal Marriage direct themselves. |

| I agree quite a mark up for a whisky of this age but it will sell and as Andy says it will be selling for loads more on ebay to those that couldnt get a hold of it. |

| A bit disappointing they didnt select older whisky for the Macallan Royal Marriage, but i would assume they have selected a couple of very good casks. |

| I am surprised we havent seen a lot more companies releasing commemorative bottles. The only bottles i know of so far are this Macallan Royal Marriage and the St. Georges Royal Marriage from the English Whisky Co. |

| A nice limited edition 18 year Macallan Royal Marriage would have been good. |

| I dont think these types of bottles are ever priced for drinking. It would have been nice to taste it but not at this price. It is definitely one for the die hard Macallan collectors or royal memorabilia collectors. Had it been an older aged Macallan with a bit of a mark up for collectability then the whisky drinkers would have bought it up in seconds. |
