Hi,
Just been thinking really what is the point in a whisky collection? Mine is very small - only about 10 bottles i've left unopen. It is nice to have them for decoration value but I dont really know what my plan is!
So is your collection for drinking in the future or for selling? |

| I dont really look at mine as a collection but simply whisky i am keeping for the future. My collection is mostly limited releases that i have enjoyed which i have also bought an extra 1 or 2 bottles of which i will drink in the future. Well at least that is the plan, I have never actually sold a bottle yet but it is getting tempting as the values of some whiskys soar. |

Hi,
My collection is also a bit of both, i buy for two reasons, 1, to keep for future sales, not bothered about profit being massive just enough to beat what a bank may give, also will help in later years, 2, drink it.......... as i dont expect any large margins most of my whisky can br drunk, only a few will never be drunk by me....as most people will tell you whisky is made to be drunk.... |

| I buy limited release bottles to keep to drink in the future. In the last few years I also started buying some as a possible investment which i may sell in the future or i may drink as i only buy whisky which i would want to drink myself. Like you Bookie i havent actually sold a bottle yet. |

I don't think there is an end point , whether you drink it , pass it on or sell it , I think we just enjoy it while we can |

ye I think im a mix,
maybe part of me is planning to sell them but like you guys, ive never actually sold a bottle! probably just crack them out when they are even rarer. I just get a bit confused sometimes when I look at unopened bottles and wonder why I havent opened them ha |
