Hello I'm new here.
I turn 40 next year and 14 months into becoming a new dad I'm not as fit or slim as I used to be. So I have given myself a challenge to help focus my efforts on getting super fit again. By the time I turn 40 (on 20 December 2012) I hope to climb 100 of the Scottish Munros. I've done about 30 in the past 38 years, many of those on skis, so I appreciate the size of the task I'm taking on.
To keep things interesting I'm combining 2 of my 3 passions and I'm gonna enjoy a different expression whisky at the top of each summit and write a blog all about it.
I've not decided yet how I will choose which whisky to enjoy on top of which Munro.
There are the obvious ones such as a Tobermory up Ben More or a Talisker up one of the Cuillins, however since most distilleries are not beside Munros I'm looking for some other inspiring connections.
An obvious clash is where do I have a Dalwhinnie? up Carn na Caim which overlooks the town, or do you have whisky from Scotland's highest distillery up Scotland's highest mountain i.e. Ben Nevis?
Your suggestions for unusual juxtapositions would be gratefully received.
