Hi there I just had a new addition to the family today.

Just wondered if any one knows of a nice whisky that was bottled today, a limited edition or something special as a keepsake for when he's older.
Any help or suggestions are welcome, cheers and slainte Alan. |

| Congratulations Alan, the only bottles i have heard of recently is the new single cask bottlings from Glendronach and Benriach mentioned here www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/beriachglendronachsinglecask.htm but i see they were all bottled in July and i would guess you want something bottled in August. |

Congratulations Alan
If you are looking for something with the date on it then those bottled in August wont start appearing in whisky shops for at least another month but if you are looking for something bottled this year then i know The Whisky Exchange has recently added quite a few independent bottlings from the likes of Douglas Laing, Mackillop's Choice and Aldelphi. They also have the Macallan 1993 18 year old which Macallan recently released, it maybe make a good 18th birthday gift. |

| Diageos 2011 Special Releases should be out soon, September if i remember correctly. They usually have some very special collectable bottlings amongst them such as Port Ellen. |

It is more likely to be the independent bottlings which state the exact bottling date so worth watching in The Whisky Exchange in the coming months as they often state the bottling date in there description of the whisky on there website. |

congratulations !
personally I have never seen a whisky with a bottled on date, distilled date only. so i'd either look for a bottle that was bottled this year or wait for 12 + years and get one distilled on his birthday _________________ In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king |

| Congrats, just a thought but what about a bottle your own from the distillary of your choice ( or those that do it) just ring them up and ask them to do a bottle for you, that way the date will be very close and you get a single barrel, cask strength whisky for a good price... |

Congratulations Alan.
Douglas Laings Old Malt Cask bottlings are are worth watching out for as they state the month and year of distillation and bottling and they do turn out some decent bottlings. |

Congratulations Alan
I am biased towards Macallan but Johns suggestion of the Macallan 1993 18 year old which Macallan recently released would make a good investment or a great whisky to give as an 18th birthday gift in 2029 I dont even want to think what age i will be them
A good Macallan is always a good intro to malt whisky i think. |
