As the title says, what has been your biggest whisky regret
Which whisky have you purchased only to totally regret buying
Personally in recent times for me it has to be the Dalmore 15 year old. |

To be honest I didn't really have any regrets about any bottles , until you mentioned the dal more 15 , I just bought one 3 months ago , i haven't tasted it yet , but now I already regret buying it, is it £50 wasted.
Cheers Alan. |

| My biggest whisky regrets are more what i didnt buy rather than what i did buy. For example i wish i had bought more of the Ardbeg Supernova 2009 when it was released. I regret not buying more Port Ellen years ago as it is getting more and more expensive and way beyond my budget for an everyday dram. |

I don't think I have big regrets, since I haven't tried the Dalmore 15 yet I wouldn't describe it as a regret, but I was disappointed when I bought the Aberlour 10. I know it flies on the face of many recommendations here but, after the admittedly very tempting nose I found it unbalanced and lacking smoothness on the palate. Still, it's very cheap and I still drink it occasionally so it's not exactly a regret.
I also regret not buying a Glenfiddich Foundation Reserve... |

I regret not buying more Ardbeg 10 when Asda was selling it off fro £20 early last year, i thought 20 bottles was plenty at the time
A bottle which i regret buying is Drumguish from the Speyside distillery |

I regret not buying a Glenrothes distilled 1973 and bottled in2000.
It was expensive (for me at the time) and I still see it now and then..
buying....Id say that I got a Glenfiddich Caoran Reserve....Ive had several before and enjoyed them. But one bottle wasnt just smokey and peaty, it was like licking an ashtray!! |

Cheers Alan. | Hopefully not £50 wasted, personally i dont like it but you may like it Alan. I think it has a false caramel taste which i think comes from there use of E150a colouring. It was an expensive mistake for me but some people love it. |
