Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum. Hoping some of you can help with a conundrum I've been given. I was visiting Wales at the weekend and after many hours of talking through the night the landlady of a pub near Borth (I forget the name) gave me a half glass full of whisky which I'd never heard of before called penrhos. It's meant to mean 'end of the marsh' and she gave me some story about it being a recipe of some knights who were also called penrhos knights. I didn't think there were ever any knights in wales. Was she just getting rid of some crap whisky or does anyone know what she's talking bout?! lol Any help appreciated

I know of only one Welsh single malt whisky and that is Penderyn. I have never heard of penrhos whisky but it may be a blended whisky

Thanks for the replies everyone... The mystery continues! I phoned the pub and they said they'd never heard of it (which is weird, because they served it!). But they also said that they were closed on the night the night I went there, so maybe I just got the wrong pub.

Anyway, someone pm'd me and said it's not whisky, but a sort of tonic. If anyone else hears any more then I'd love to solve the mystery! Smile
