Hi, I'm new to the forum so forgive me if I am posting out of topic.

I am a member of a Lions Club based in Olney, a small English market town between Milton Keynes, Northampton, Bedford and Weillingborough.

I am a scot, who moved to England some 20 years ago and have been beavering away at the licenced premises in my town to get them to carry a range of malts. Been reasonably successful as all the pub, clubs and restaurants now carry Glenfiddich/Glenmorangie and a few others so I am now 'pushing the boundaries' by running a Whisky Tasting session called 'Malt and More' to try and convert a few more of my townspeople into the delights of malts.

Funds raised will be going to my Lions Club charity account which has enabled me to get a lot of support from the industry - see www.olneylionsclub.org to see the companies that are supporting us. If anyone in the forum is local to the area and is free on 23rd September, why not join us and our guest expert, Michael Hopert or Royal Mile whiskies as he takes us round the main distilling areas of Scotland.

Tickets cost £20 and will ensure a minimum of 5 whiskies being tasted (with other drinks being added for the 'more' part of the evening) in what will be a superbe evening.

For further details, please ring John on 0771 001 8751 or visit our website www.olneylionsclub.org.

I moved your post to the Whisky Events section. Sounds like a great evening, hope it goes well and you raise lots.
