| Auchentoshan 12 and 3wood are good choices, as said Glenmorangie 10 and dont rule out Glenfiddich 12, in my opinion a very good first whisky.... |

You may never try another after trying it. Well worth the extra few pounds. |

some great suggestions - Glenfiddich 15 is the best quality vs price Malt there is for me. If you want to try lots of new and wonderful malts then look up the Master of Malt - masterofmalt.com _________________ Jonny

| I love all the whiskies recommended above, and certainly wouldn't mean to knock the excellent Glenfiddich 15, but for me the pick of these is the Balvenie Doublewood. But you're unlikely to go wrong with any of them! |

| They're not light and fruity but you'd do well to try Springbank 10yo (Waitrose) and Lagavulin 16yo (most supermarkets) |

Thanks | I think the Glenfiddich 15 fits right into your description or another which is not mentioned is the Aberfeldly 12 although you would probably need to buy this at a specialist whisky shop as i dont think you will find it in a supermarket. |

| Value for money and fruityness wise the Glenfiddich range are all very good. I'd also suggest trying a bourbon other than Jack Daniels, Kentucky Derby is a well priced, widely available favourite of mine. |
