I am sure it will sell at £125 a bottle but is a lot of money for a young whisky. Didnt whisky used to acquire a collectable price/value, now it seems to get released with a collectable price Confused

Unfortunately that seems to be the common practice now. You may double your money in 10 years with this one, who knows, good luck to those who do buy it.

On paper this does not work for me. The value of malt has to be in liquid and its quality. This will be a max of 4 years? in wood and bottled because it needed to be, not because it was the right choice of a malt master.

I like the EWC malts that I have tried and am keen to see how they progerss over the next few years but this seems to be a step too far, too soon.

After all that however, for the sake of the EWC I would love to be prooved completely wrong.

I do understand there is very little income and a lot of outgoings for a new whisky company but surely there business plan/budget would have considered this from the offset. I dont think they do themselves any favours with this pricing, they are pricing out what will eventually be there target market. To me a better form of marketing would be to get the whisky out there and get it tasted and talked about and generating interest in what is to come in the future.
