Over the course of our history The Dalmore's remarkable spirit has been filled to French wine barriques, Madeira drums, sherry butts from Jerez, Sicilian Marsala barrels, port pipes from the Douro and bourbon barrels from Kentucky. Each of these casks has now been united to create an exceptional malt where the individual characteristics of each work together to form a rich, deep spirit. This release commemorates the Mackenzie Clan ancestor's heroic act in saving King Alexander in 1263.

The Dalmore King Alexander III is one that i havent tried myself, you never really hear it mentioned much so i would be interested in hearing what others think of it, do they think it is worth the money Question

Incidentally if you are thinking of getting a bottle mike it is only £115 over at

I have only had a taste of the King Alexander when i was at the Whisky Show and IMO it was very good indeed, i didnt realise it was as expensive as this. Hard to say whether it is worth the money i suppose it all depends how much you have to spare Smile
And you can choose from a lot of exceptional whiskies for this price.

I have never had the king alexander either, i am not a fan of Dalmore in general but i am sure with some madeira casks in the mix this will be quite different from the usual Dalmore. To have no age statement and this price tag the guys at Dalmore must be confident that it is a decent dram, i would be also interested what anybody who has tasted it has to say.
