Hi All,

I'm new here. I have a bottle of Glenfarclas 1955, it is in a blue velvet presentation case, with 6 lead glass tumblers and glass stopper that I want to sell.

It was a limited edition and there were only 100 made, this has its certificate and is No 100 out of the 100 and came direct from the distillery. I'm guessing that No1 or No 100 out of this lot would have some kind of premium but I don't know.

I was going to drink it on my 50th but that came and went and ill-health means I wont enjoy it much so its up for sale.

Does anyone have any ideas what its worth or where I would best sell it??

Thanks everyone...

There are a couple of Glenfarclas 1955 bottlings which i am aware of. The Glenfarclas 1955 50 year old but this was a limited edition of 110 bottles and not 100 like yours, it sells in shops for £5500

The other i am aware of is the Glenfarclas 1955 Family Cask bottling, i believe this sells for around £800.

The discription you give of the packaging makes me think it is neither of the 2 i mention.

Do you have any more info on the bottle which could help identify it, such as cask no, abv, age or date it was bottled.

There are a few auctions which have specialised whisky auctions. A couple which are popular are www.mctears.co.uk in Glasgow and www.bonhams.com in Edinburgh

The only other thing I can say is its etched on the bottle 100/100, its a small square bottle, 75cl, 43% vol

Hope this helps...

Does it have an age or bottling date or just the vintage/distilling year 1955?
