| I thought the Dalmore Gran Reserva replaced the Dalmore Cigar Malt, although i never had the chance to compare them both head to head to see if it was just a relabelled whisky or a new version. |

Looks like this is a more premium version of the old Cigar Malt or at least this is what they are impying with Richard Paterson statement | Quote: | | "Aged in 30 year old Oloroso Sherry butts, American White Oak and premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques, this whisky provides cigar and malt fans with an incomparable experience and succinct pleasure. | So is some of the whisky in the new Cigar Malt Reserve 30 year old or was it aged in sherry casks that were 30 year old |

I see what you mean Grant, Mr Patersons statement isnt very clear as far as the age of this goes. Whatever age it is it is certainly more expensive than both the old Cigar Malt and the Gran Reserva that replaced it so i would have to assume the new Dalmore Cigar Malt Reservere will contain more premium aged whisky than ithe other 2.
I did like the old Dalmore Cigar Malt but never got around to trying the Gran Reserva probaly because i gave up the cigars in 2006. |
