Bowmore have launched a new expression in the UK, Bowmore Small Batch Reserve.

Created from a selection of the finest first- and second-fill bourbon casks, and brought together for an extended period of maturation, Bowmore says this expression is there most delicate and best balanced yet.

Bowmore Small Batch Reserve is already on shelves as i saw it in Asda on Tuesday this week.

No batch number on the bottle. I have been told that it is a release of 5000 cases, so 30,000 bottles

It was in Asda on Tuesday when i was in. You will probably find it will be generally available in the usual outlets from this month.

It is a very American bourbon name tag they have given this new Bowmore - "'Small Batch" So where does it fit in the range compared to the no age statement Bowmore Legend which is a great dram. It appears to be more expensive but a name tag of "Small Batch" doesnt automatically justify the more expensive price tag compared to the very good Bowmomore Legend.

William or anyone else who has tried both, how do they compare Question

There is more smoke in the Legend James, the Bowmore Small Batch Reserve is what Bowmore are marketing it as, a light summery dram. I would say it is very much a lighter version of the 12 year old, an enjoyable easy to drink whisky.
