I have received this bottle as a gift. I have 'nt found any information about this type of single malt nor in the major whisky sites, nor in e-shops.
The label provides no informations about region of origin, it states only " Glen Scanlan, single malt, aged 12 years...distributor is saur international
Does somebody know something about this whisky?

| I have never heard of Glen Scanlan before now. Just had a quick search, it seems to come from a French independent bottler, the Glen Scanlan website doesnt really give any info on the origins of the whisky other than its a 12 year old single malt |

saur international is one of France's leading manufacturers of alcoholic beverages and syrups. Looks like they have a range of Scotch whisky bottled under the Glen Scanlan label, both blended and single malt whisky. Not sure if it is available outside France, i have never come across it.
This is the companies tasting note for the Glan Scanlon 12 year old:
| Quote: | GLEN SCANLAN Single Malt Scotch Whisky is produced in one specific distillation, allowing a unique style, taste and quality. Aged in sherry oak casks for at least 12 years.
Color Amber
Nose Full. Fresh with a hint of sherry
Body Firm. Quite smooth
Palate Mellow, rich and smooth. Interesting complexity of flavors. Sherry and spicy notes
Finish Long, round and some sweetness
Volume 40° |
They dont appear to give any info as far as distillery or whisky region. |
