Hi all,
I'm looking in to buying a whole barrel of whiskey and let somebody else look after while it's maturing. Does anyone now if there is a destillery offering a service like this?
Cheers,
Georg |

Hi Georg,
Springbank and Kilchoman also "sell" barrels of 'spirit' to individuals and they keep it for X number of years for you. However keep in mind the additional costs when they take the barrel out in X years then you need to pay VAT, Duty and bottling costs.
Good luck, Rene _________________ Ardbeg 4 ever |

| Has anyone invested in the above? And do you know what flavours you will expect in say, 3 years, 5 years, and 10 years? |

Hi Paul
I havent done this myself but know a couple of people who have. I have always seen it as something for a group to do as an individual will have an awful lot of the whisky to get through and every bottle the same and i like variety. Also as Rene says be aware of all the costs.
The distillery will be able to advise you what the whisky will be like but you yourself have a huge influence on what the final whisky will be like as you choose what type of cask to mature the whisky in for example if you like sherried whisky you would choose to mature it in a sherry cask and you decide how long to mature it for.
