Here in Canada, the selection of mini single malt scotches is very limited. I imagine the selection in Scotland and England must be much better. Yes? What's it like? _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| I find The Whisky Exchange has a good selection of whisky miniatures, i always add a couple of bottles to any order i place, it gives me a chance to try before buying the full size bottle. Miniis have also given me the chance to taste some whiskies which would have been out of my budget for a full size bottle for everyday drinking such as the Highland Park 40 which was brilliant. |

I think the whisky specialist shops online carry the best selection of whisky miniatures nowadays here in the UK. Very few high shops here carry many miniatures if any. I used to collect them a number of years ago but when i released that the whisky in miniature bottles can evapourate quickly i stopped collecting them and drunk my collection |

You bring up a very good point about evaporation in mini bottles. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

I've also heard that the cardboard that resides under the cap top can sometimes spoil the contents of the bottle over time, there's a relatively high surface to volume ratio. _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

That makes a lot of sense. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| I had a collection of whisky miniatures a few years back but just took the notion to open them one day. Some were cloudy and had spoiled but the majority were fine. I wish i had kept a few such as the vintage Macallans as they sell for big money now. |

| I have seen Macallan vintage minis selling for crazy amounts of money, i am sure you do regret drinking them as they would have bought you a few full sized bottles |

I am a member of the miniature bottle club in the UK, although I do not buy as much miniatures as I used too. They have auctions for members only and and a AGM, worldwide membership is around £40 I think, UK is slightly cheaper.
Regarding evaporation in mini bottles, I always use parafilm which keeps a good seal, worth doing this with miniatures.
I still have a large collection of miniatures but also have a few fine and rare Macallans, I sold one recently on ebay to fund the Macallan Jubilee bottle.
I sometimes open minis and drink them if I feel the need, only had a couple that did not taste great.
