On this forum there doesn't seem to be much love for Dalmore. I haven't seen it mentioned though I'm still relatively new here. I haven't tried it myself, the bottles look like they've got lots of marketing behind them (it all has to be paid for) and I always thought they looked (the younger ones particularly) too dark to conceivably be uncoloured. Am I being unfair? And, more importantly, does it walk the talk? _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."

You're right, there is a ton of marketing going on with Dalmore , including all the publicity garnered by 2 of 3 bottles of Damore 64 Trinitas that sold for 100,000 pounds each. The youngest malt is 64 years old. I myself have a Dalmore 12 year old bottle unopened as yet.
The Trinitas is profiled at this link.

I've seen quite a few posts on this forum complaining about the amount of caramel colouring used in Dalmore, and from what I remember the Dalmore 15 seems to be the main culprit. Personally, I haven't tried it, I've only tried the 12 in fact and I enjoyed it, though it's not among my favourites.

I had the Dalmore 18 recently and thought it was very good but was very surprised at Jim Murrays low rating of it "76.5". I am not a fan of the Dalmore 15 at all.

Has anyone tried the Dalmore King Alexander III, quite a mix of casks that goes into this, very typical rich sherry style Dalmore with a bit of port in there also, very easy to drink. The finish was a bit short for such a rich whisky.
