|
|
Hi,
I'm after some help finding a good quality whiskey to take to a wedding in a couple of weeks where the stag and a couple of friends aren't really whiskey drinkers. I'm partial to a whiskey when I've been out but I'm no expert so I'm really just looking for suggestions on a decent bottle, under £40, that will be an enjoyable drink for all of us.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Blair. |

If you're looking for single malt scotch whisky and want to address the average palate without going for the peatier stuff, I would recommend Aberlour 12 years and Dalwhinnie 15 years which would both suit your projected budget of under 40 pounds a bottle. Bear in mind that the latter would be indulged either neat or with minimal water and without ice. I live in Canada but I checked your prices there. However, if it doesn't have to be single malt scotch then you have many more possibilities with scotch blends, Irish whisky, etc. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

A few easy to drink malt whiskies for around £40 are:
Glenlivet 18 year old
Glenfiddich 15 year old
Aberfeldy 12 year old
Tomintoul 14 year old
Glen Garioch 12 year old |

Thanks for your advice, it's very helpful.
It does need to be scottish - it's a wedding so there's no other option! haha
I considered the Dalwhinnie and Glenfiddich as I've had those before and enjoyed them. I was also considering Old Pulteney 12yo too. |

| I would say the Glenfiddich 15 would be a good choice very easy to drink quality whisky which anyone who likes whisky will enjoy. |

Have just bought The Glenlivet 18 for Fathers Day, I would also suggest it for the wedding quests, it is available for about £33 from Asda & Waitrose at the moment and would appeal to most.

Yes, get in while the Fathers Day deals are still on - probably until Sunday - and you'll find some bargains! _________________ "Whisky is liquid sunshine."
