Hi,
I would just like to know if I'm correct in saying the following regarding the age of a whisky.
If a bottle has the dates: Distilled: 09/1987 Bottled: 09/2011, this to me would mean the whisky could be either 23 or 24 years old, because it's possible that it could of been bottled on a day that was earlier in the month than when it was distilled, meaning that it would be 23yo. The bottle has no age statement, just the dates as above.
Thank you,
Ben |

| Ben, I have just been looking through your whisky miniature collection on your website, a pretty impressive collection. |

Thank you Kava.
I have just made a spreadsheet of my 'Malts of Scotland' collection from Germany, and wanted a column for the age, which is not mentioned on any of the 150+ bottles, so this is the reasoning for the question.
Regards,
Ben |

Hi Ben as a retired distillery warehouse operator , a cask of whisky could be filled on 31st dec and be classed as 1 yr old next day on the 1st of jan i.IT is the year that counts every cask filled that year is the same age yours Bodger |
