"However, it is difficult to see Bruichladdich making a huge difference to Remy Cointreau's bottom line," they added. "Bruichladdich's 2011 sales of 8.7 million pounds would equate to approximately 1 percent of group turnover" in 2012.

But they may have ideas of expanding and will have the money to do so quickly.

I am sure we wont see anywhere near as many of the interesting limited releases if Bruichladdich ends up in a big companies hands.

I agree, but as Kenny says i am sure we will see a less limited releases in the hands of a big company. Although it would be good to see more Port Charlotte or even a Port Charlotte distillery.

Totally agree, i hope they get a big pay day after investing there own money with no guarantee of success and they now leave us (if they do sell) with a decent single malt which could have been gone forever.

I seen in the Scotsman that Remy Cointreau apparently have £790 million to spend after the sale of there champagne business last year, they wont need that much to buy Bruichladdich, the Scotsman say it has been valued at £25 million
