Hi,
I'm really keen to start a new whisky club in London... Recently visited the excellent Malt n Copper in Brighton and keen to start something similar here.
Looking for 10/15 like minded people happy to chip in £10/20 each month to help buy 4/5 interesting malts each month and work our way through them.
I know a nice wee pub in islington with a back room we could rent for cheapish. I'm not looking to make money out of this, just want to have a laugh.
I'm 23, from Scotland, but living down in London at the moment. I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I've read more books on the subject than i should admit and I've got a collection of 15 bottles at the mo. I'd be happy to do a brief presentation on each malt so we can at least pretend it's educational!
If you're interested either post back here, or send me a PM... if enough people are interested then we can take it from there.
Equally if one exists already please feel free to invite me along |

Hi,
I'm new to posting on the forum but have been reading some of the posts for a short while so thought I'd register and start getting more involved.
I love this idea and would be keen to join. Or similarly if there are other clubs already around in London that people recommend, I'd be interested to hear about them.

Hey,
Richard, do you want to PM your email address?
I've had 2 other people PM me with interest, so I'm gonna post some ads up on other forums/gumtree etc until we have maybe 10 odd people then I'll oraganise a date!

Have you considered joining the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, which has a London branch. Membership is £52 a year, and they sell nothing but interesting malts. You can buy them by the dram, or buy bottles. Everything they stock is single cask, and has passed by their tasting panel, and they reject over 80% of the casks they taste, so they are pretty fussy!
IMO, it's a great place to drink and learn about single malts. _________________ Rob Hughes

Hey,
Yeah I used to be a member when I lived in Edinburgh, but not really a fan of the London venue... the one in Leith is amazing, but the one down here doesn't live up to it in my opinion.
Also ideally looking for a few fellow whisky geeks to drink with as I'm lacking some down here! |

Hi,
I'd be really keen to get involved in the club if there's still room - i'm 26 and recently moved to London from Scotland. I collect older bottles when I can and memorabilia from closed distilleries - all in all a bit of a geek.
Would definitely be willing to contribute towards bottles for tastings, etc.
Cheers!
